Freedom's Shore

Love (the eighth wonder of the world)

The sole path leads away from this place -
but I'm not sure where it will lead.
Time seemed to stand still,
and yet life flashes by so fast.
Early morning dew seems to kiss the
blades of grass - they stand tall.
Love should have been a wonder of
the world - it is unexplained.
Fear can make us angry and
   fill us like concrete.
You can't leave now,
   we're lost together.

Life at light-speed

Let's dance till morning -
   we haven't a worry.
Then again - we worry too much.
Where is that all-important project?
   (This was due weeks ago...)
We are driving through life at light speed -
   and caffeine is fueling us.
Who is guilty - and who is innocent?
(We stand on the side dazed.)

The calm before the storm

The scared little child within,
   shaking, frightened.
We have lost our way,
   no turning back now.
Our paranoia have come
to a juncture where something must be done.
Someone get me out of here.
   Where are we going?
It's the calm before the storm
   the race for time
      against a raging machine.
Life seems to have no purpose,
   yet we go on.
