This Earth is Sacred

last moments of a leaf

I remain here - and await my destiny -
I cling to every last grasp of life that I can -
My friends and relatives all dropping off
   the branches before my eyes.
That last moment has come - I must
make that slow voyage down to my
   resting place on the ground.
Just another leaf to the pile.

shapes in the clouds seems more indifferent
   everytime i see them.
Great cottonly substance billows to and fro;
   nestle me closer to that pillow
     we call home.
Begin to wonder if there is a pattern....
   of this complex web of life.
